Last week was a crazy one, but I survived though without anything to be pleased about exercise-wise. Still, the fund raising event on Sunday that I was organising went well. So, hopefully, my schedule will remain on keel for the next few weeks. Monday: 15 min. walking Tuesday: 30 min. walking Wednesday: 1 hr walking, 40 min. bicycle, 1 hr 30 min. yoga Thursday: 20 min. walking Friday: 15 min....

Like Lynn, I’m going to a Physical Therapist, and doing the exercises he recommends. My knee still hurts enough to stop me from going on the elliptical, but much less than it used to and I can take walks, even if I’m not even trying to walk fast. Monday: 15mn flexibility, lying single leg raises: 4 sets, 15 reps, Thighmaster: 4 sets, 15 reps, sitting up legs extended, feet flex: 2x10mn,...

This dummy and her mates really caught my attention yesterday. She wears pretty expensive sportswear and has a pierced nose and tongue, not to mention her rather agressive look I wonder how the posh customers in the area like it? Another photograph I took was blurred and I’ll have to go back

If you’ve seen the wonderful BBC series Pride and Prejudice, you’ll recognize Mr Darcy’s castle, Pemberley, in real life, Lyme Park. We visited on a rainy day, but it was still a beautiful place

While I’ve been missing from the group for the last 4+ weeks I have been exercising. Not as much as I would like but at least the new semester did not derail me completely. Because Sam has decided to work from home two days a week I am walking from campus to home rather than asking Sam to come pick me up. It is a 2.5 mile walk through a quiet residential area followed by a bike/walking path...

Well, as Lia noted in her comment to my last entry, it’s 2 steps forward and 1 step back. I am getting back to exercise but oh, so slowly. I have to keep reminding myself that I was VERY sedentary for almost 6 weeks and it will take a while to get my conditioning back–and I still need to treat my knee tenderly (really, both knees need TLC). I’ve been doing my full PT routine every other day and...

Hello everybody, I am a week late. Delinquent! Work schedule has definitely gotten busier. I’m beginning 3 choirs this week, another one next week, and have a big presentation to give (my LIFE in music and faith!!! ACK!) on Sept. 26th. Not freaking out yet, but close… And as you will see, my weight has been up and down. And my cardio activity has varied as well. The first week, I really overate...

I am not going to make excuses, but last week was hard because of bad weather and having my husband home sick. The week before was tops. Sunday: ended up not relaxing but helping my friend clean her old apartment four hours! Monday: 20 minutes of walking Tuesday: 40minutes of walking Wednesday: 1 hourr and 15 minutes of walking Thursday: 20 minutes of walking Friday: didn’t do much beyond...

And back to ElderExercise with weekly regularity. And we are all invited to weekly regularity, right? With a prize to Lynn who has been wonderfully regular, in spite of her bad knee and has been showing us the way. Am I trying to imitate her with a hurting and swollen knee? Not of my own free will. But I must say that the summer has been… a pain. Starting with bladder infection, followed by...

Last Saturday, I went for the first time in my life to one of Château de Versailles sound and light shows. Fireworks throughout Some of the stuff was quite amazing.
